Chief Administrative Secretary.
The Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) is a position within the government of Kenya.
The CAS is a political appointment made by the President and serves as a deputy to a Cabinet Secretary in a specific ministry or department.
The role of the CAS is to assist the Cabinet Secretary in the execution of their duties and responsibilities.
The CAS is responsible for supporting the Cabinet Secretary in policy formulation, implementation, and coordination of activities within the ministry or department.
They may represent the Cabinet Secretary at various forums, engage with stakeholders, and provide oversight to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services.
H.E president William Ruto on 16th march 2023 publicly announced the full list of chief Administrative secretaries.
This follows a recommendation made by the Public service commission. The list will get submitted to the Kenya National assembly for consideration and and approval by parliament in accordance to the Public Appointments ( Parliamentary Approval )Act (No. 23 of 2011)
